About Pageant Music

Pageant Music seeks to contribute to the rich tradition of music for sacred use in the Christian church; the lineage of (to name just a few) St. Ambrose, Pope Gregory, Machaut, Josquin, J.S. Bach, Rheinberger, Stravinsky, Frank Martin, William Cowper, Duke Ellington, Arvo Part, Rich Mullins and countless other Christian writers, composers and musicians. Pageant Music is a record label. Pageant Music is a music publishing company. Pageant Music is an aesthetic think tank. Pageant Music provides resources for churches who wish to expand the sonic palette of worship – creating what we like to call Sonic Incense; sounds that aid in our apprehension of the beauty of the Lord, the glorification of our Almighty Creator, the adoration of the Son, and edification of His church.

Pageant Music is all about ancient liturgical music. Pageant Music is all about new music, and the freedom and joy we have in creating a new song. About American Gospel. About jazz and all the American urban sounds. About rich literature. About action and contemplation. And with it’s own “striving and…childish stammering” Pageant Music seeks to give glory to the Triune Creator of the universe through the wonderful gift of music.
